Week of April 7th...

Well, Cameron's looking good and seems to be feeling good, too. Andrea and I just about have him sleeping at night and alert during the day, so sleeping is getting easier for us.

Andrea strained her neck feeding and staring at him! She really hurt for a couple of days there, but a neck brace and some moist heat seems to speed the recovery.

Grandma Susan stayed with us for a few days last week while I returned to work. What a blessing it was to have her around.

Here are some pics from the last week, Cam is growing fast and looks more mature to me every day!

One week old...

Well, Cam's one week old now and is so much smarter and wiser.

Yeah right.

Eat, sleep, poop, pee, play. That's our schedule and it's on his terms. Something we are still adjusting to.

His check up went well and Mom goes in today for staple removal. She's doing good, too.

Induction Ceremony

After yesterday's Dr. visit, Andy's doing good in the fluid department and the induction is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 5:30am.

Erin and Marcos Andujar have induction scheduled for Sunday, so it's looking like a pretty baby boy intensive week ahead.

Coming sooner...

than the due date. Andrea's last Dr. visit revealed low levels of amniotic fluid again, so William Cameron Reid will be making his debut about 2 weeks earlier than the due date. Andy has another appointment this Friday and if the fluid levels are low, she will likely be induced. If the levels are higher, then the Dr. wants her to wait until April 1st (just a few more days, really). So either way it looks like WC will be around very soon!

We got everything prepared just in time and tonight I will be cleaning our house under the watchful eye of Andy. She's a pro, so I've got to step up my game. I've got to figure out how to watch the Mavs, Stars and clean, too.

Doing fine

Just an update to let folks know that Andrea is doing better after bedrest, and normal amniotic fluid levels are back. The doctors tell her to just keep chillin', working as few days in the office as possible, and having me pick up some duties around the house. I have found that old people shop for groceries on Saturdays.

Sonogram

Stuff-wise I think we are just about ready. The room is looking good, the closet is filling up, the diaper stack is high, and the dressers and storage is in place.

We had to skip the work shower that my employer was going to throw for us, as we had an unexpected trip to the labor and delivery triage last night. After Andrea's routine sono, Dr. Finke decided that her amniotic fluid levels were a little low and that she needed to stress test the baby. So we went to the hospital and they hooked up the belly monitor and blood pressure monitor for Andy. For like 2.5 hours they monitored the movements and heart rate acceleration of the boy. All seems well and baby is OK, so Andrea is on bed rest while hopefully the fluid count gets a little higher or holds steady. Right now she's at the 7.1 mark, which is at the bottom of the "normal" level of fluid.

Oh, the boy is looking good and they think he's a healthy one. Right now he's at like 6.2lbs. The sono nurse showed us his head, eyes, nose, arms, legs and junk. I have to take her word for whats what, as it's not as clear as the last sono.

I will post pics tonight.
