Sonogram

Stuff-wise I think we are just about ready. The room is looking good, the closet is filling up, the diaper stack is high, and the dressers and storage is in place.

We had to skip the work shower that my employer was going to throw for us, as we had an unexpected trip to the labor and delivery triage last night. After Andrea's routine sono, Dr. Finke decided that her amniotic fluid levels were a little low and that she needed to stress test the baby. So we went to the hospital and they hooked up the belly monitor and blood pressure monitor for Andy. For like 2.5 hours they monitored the movements and heart rate acceleration of the boy. All seems well and baby is OK, so Andrea is on bed rest while hopefully the fluid count gets a little higher or holds steady. Right now she's at the 7.1 mark, which is at the bottom of the "normal" level of fluid.

Oh, the boy is looking good and they think he's a healthy one. Right now he's at like 6.2lbs. The sono nurse showed us his head, eyes, nose, arms, legs and junk. I have to take her word for whats what, as it's not as clear as the last sono.

I will post pics tonight.

Look at all this stuff!

Man, have we got baby stuff! Our tiny baby room is filled to the rim with the gifts from our family and friends. Thank you all so much! It's almost embarrassing, actually. My dad was over and he was amazed at how spoiled a kid could be before birth. He said that he didn't sleep in a bed that nice until he was over 40 years old (after seeing the convertible crib).

After about 3 hours worth of plundering and organizing last night, we can actually walk through the room without stepping on a gift. Now the room is tiny, so the amount and size of the gifts seems magnified, but this kid is going to be set. One of Andrea's co-workers said he wanted to buy stock in our baby! What does that even mean?

I will try and get some pics posted up soon. Until then we've got TWO MORE SHOWERS!

Thanks again to everyone.

It's baaaack...

Well, it looks like PandA's TV debut is going to happen after all. For those that don't know, PHPR (my employer- public relations firm) was hired to help a family owned wrestling business called Professional Championship Wrestling who just happened to be being filmed for a show called The Bussey Bunch for the TLC/Discovery network. Andrea and I will make our first appearance in episode 7! I think the show is scheduled to start sometime in March. Mark your TIVOS!

Mavs and Stars

Oh, Avery. What the hell?

Last night was a great TV night for DFW b-ball and hockey. First the Mavs vs. Spurs.
Avery pulling J. Kidd out of the game for the last possessions and replacing him with J. Terry was akin to dropping your gun and putting up your dukes in a high noon standoff. Suicide. Why the hell did we trade for this guy if we are not going to use him. I won't go on. I'm just too confused. Bad coach. Bad.

The debut of Brad Richards in a Stars uniform was AWESOME! That team seems to be firing on all cylinders at the right time. Glory bound. 5 assists in one night. He's got the skating skills of Modano and the hands of Zubov. I can hear the friction of Dallas fans rubbing their hands together awaiting the first round of the playoffs.

Plans for the Weekend?

No, I don't have any plans. I've got duties.
Andrea and I are now in "nesting" mode, I believe, as focus turns away from going out and having fun to staying home and getting ready for the boy. Which I'm sure we will have plenty of fun, just a different type of fun. Like fun working in the yard, fun assembling baby items, fun cleaning the baseboards in the house, fun preparing for a garage sale. It's all in preparation for living for someone besides ourselves and I'm more than fine with that, I'm grateful!

Tonight is our 5th anniversary dinner, and it's gonna be fun.
It's got to be.
