Out of the ?4th? trimester

Sorry its been a while since the last posting. I'm slacking trying to keep up with everything. All is well in the house of Panda and the cub is growing. Here are some pics to prove it! My first Father's day was full of pride, and I get a good feeling when I see other dads with kiddos now. We are very lucky to have WC, and wont take his presence for granted. He's pretty powerful, you know. Anyway here's some pics...

Cams first big wrestling match...

Well, I just didn't want to say playdate because it's not very masculine. If anything it was a sleep/cry off between Cameron (home team) and Antonio (visitor). Erin, Marcos and Alice came over and we had a nice visit on Saturday afternoon. Ant's got about 4 pounds on Cam, which is like 25% more body weight, but Cam may have him beat when it comes to gas...

Father's day weekend...

Cam got to see both Grandpas on Sunday. He spent a lot of time sleeping in Grandpa Reid's lap in the morning and hangin' with Grandpa Powers in the evening. Since Chico & Sue P. are running away to the UP to escape the TX heat for the next few months, they were plotting ways to take Cam with them.

Crazy Weekend...

Man, what a roller coaster week. We had to put Andrea's beloved cat and "first child" to sleep on Friday due to kidney issues. He had been in bad health for about 2 months and has not been the same kitty. I must say I've never known a cooler, happier cat than Macavity. He had abundant attitude and spawned 100 nicknames. He will truly be missed.

Today is Cam's first day at day care, and Andy's first day back to work, so emotions are running high. We like the day care employees and are positive all will be fine.

Cam is starting to smile every day and really coo. We are working on a way to bottle up the great emotion we get from it and take it with us to work, but will likely just settle for photos like everyone else does.

Memorial Day Weekend pics...

Cam loves to be outside, and he got his fill this weekend.
After 5 years of having a deck we now have furniture for it!
Relaxing outside is easier now. Check out the first smoked meat. Turned out good, but man, is it a lot of work.

I'm a Smoker...

of meat. It was time to replace the gas grill and I was thinking of going charcoal. Not only did I go char, I went smoker. So no actual charcoal is used, just wood. I cooked our first meal in it today, 6 chicken breasts. They took 2 hours and turned out super-brown on the outside, but super-juicy on the inside. Peel and eat bird! I loved using the smoker and may attempt a cookout for the Fam on Memorial Day.



After a thick coating of bacon grease and a 3 hour smoke, it's ready for cooking.

OK, so last night we order pizza. I'm super tired and lazy so I just plop the steaming hot pizza box onto the espresso colored coffee table. Oops. I pick up the box and there is a cloudy white heat stain that will not go away with regular cursing and paper towel wiping. So I went online and found this remedy.

Put down a cloth diaper folded in half (we happen to have one of these), then put a hot (cotton setting) clothes iron down flat right on the cloth, right over the stain for about 15 seconds. Pick up the iron, remove the cloth and wipe the moisture away and the stain is gone. It worked great and the stain is gone. Not sure of the type of wood or finish, but the table is relatively new, dark, and we were told not to use a wax based polish.
